This course provides guidance to individuals, including managers and employees, so that they can prepare to respond to an active shooter situation.

Describe actions to take when confronted with an active shooter and responding law enforcement officials. Recognize potential workplace violence indicators. Describe actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents. Describe how to manage the consequences of an active shooter incident.

This course provides guidance to individuals, including managers and employees, so that they can understand Ethics vs Etiquette, the rules of introduction, Dignitary etiquette, conversational rules, and common courtesy.

CPR/AED

This course provides guidance to individuals, Law Enforcement, and security to learn how and when to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). As well as teaching students how and when to use a rapid assessment, using a bag value mouth rescuer.

Can I just take the taser class and carry it concealed? 

New Mexico law states that you can only carry a taser concealed if you also have a Concealed Carry permit.

Do you teach non-firearm self-defense classes?

Yes, we offer classes that do not involve firearms, such as Refuse to be a Victim and Personal Protection 101. We also offer classes that focus on self-defense with the use of tasers, OC (pepper) spray, batons, and hand-to-hand techniques.

Do I have to be tased in the taser class? 

No.The civilian taser class is restricted from tasing students

Do you offer Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED training?  

Yes, we offer classes at our training academy and can work with businesses to teach classes at their location. Contact us for rates and details.

Do you teach Stop the Bleed classes?

Do you teach Concealed Carry Permit classes?

Yes, we offer Concealed Carry courses and cover all thestate requirements for certification.

Where do I get my fingerprints?  

You will need to register online at New Mexico Department ofPublic Safety website to start your fingerprinting and background check process.

How long is the Concealed Carry class?

The course is a total of 15 hours as required by the state of New Mexico. The course is taught over two days (generally weekends) and covers classroom and range training.

What does New Mexico Guard Card training require? 

The state of New Mexico establishes the requirements for all three levels of Security Guard training.

Level 1

This training is the initial training for all New Mexico Security guards and focuses on observing and reporting. Training includes classroom and scenario-based training.

Participants learn:

·     All required training in accordance with NMSA1978 61-27B-1 through 61-27B-36

·     Rules and Regulations Title 16 Chapter 48 parts1-7

Requirements to participate:

·     Must be 18 years old

·     Background check conducted by the State during application processing.

Length of course: 8 hours

Level 2

This course builds on Level 1 and focuses on the use of force and liability. Training includes classroom training, practical training, and scenario-based training. As part of the course, all participants will be sprayed with OC spray, also known as pepper spray.

Participants learn:

·       All required training in accordance with NMSA 1978 61-27B-1 through 61-27B-36

·       Rules and Regulations Title 16 Chapter 48 parts 1-7

Requirements to participate:

·       Must be 21 years old

·       Completion of Level 1

Length of course: 20 hours

Level 3

This course builds in Level 1 andLevel 2 and covers deadly use of force and firearms. Training includesclassroom, practical, and range training, as well as scenario-based training.

Participants will learn:

·       Allrequired training in accordance with NMSA 1978 61-27B-1 through 61-27B-36

·       Rulesand Regulations Title 16 Chapter 48 parts 1-7

·       Classroom,practical, and range training as well as scenario-based training

Requirements to participate:

·       Must be 21 years old

·       Completion of Level 2

250 rounds of ammunition are required and can be provided at extra cost.

Do I need my own gun to take the Concealed Carry course?

While we do encourage students to certify with a firearm that they are comfortable with, it is not a requirement to have your own gun. We offer gun rentals for classes for a small fee.

Do I have to take Level 1 and Level 2 to register for Level 3?  

Yes, security guard card training courses build upon each other and must be taken sequentially.

Can you help create school/workplace security policies?

Yes, our security and safety training services can alsoinclude site surveys, threat assessments, safety evaluations, safety, andsecurity handbook development, and much more. Contact us for rates and details.

How long is the Guard Card training good for?

Upon completion of each course, each student will receive a certification that is valid for 1 year.

Do you offer security training for government agencies?

We would tell you, but we’d have to…just kidding! Yes, contact us for rates and details.

Do I have to be sprayed with OC spray (pepper spray) in the Level 2 course?  

Yes. Being exposed to spray with OC spray is required so that students learn how to react to a situation when their senses are compromised. This process is conducted in a very safe manner and instructors will aid students in deactivating the OC spray.

The only exceptions are if students have proof that they have already been sprayed at another professional training school.

Do you provide ammunition for firearm classes?

The cost of classes does not include ammunition. You are welcome to bring your own or you can purchase ammunition from us.

As a Level 3 graduate, do I need to shoot every year as part of my re-certification?  

Yes,  it is required that you shoot a qualified instructor every year to keep your skills sharp.

How long is a Concealed Carry permit good for?

After you complete your class, your certification is valid for 4 years. If you are active military veteran, or law enforcement, your certification is valid for 5 years. You are required to take a two-year refresher.

If I have a Concealed Carry permit, do I have to requalify every two years?

Yes. While your certification is good for 4 years, you doneed to requalify at a shooting range every two years.

Do you offer Concealed Carry permit classes for women?

Yes. If our students prefer to be in a female-only class,contact us for the dates of our next female-only class.

How old do you have to be to take a firearm class?

While there is no law that requires a minimum age for firearm classes, we do require students to beat least 11 years of age and all minors must have a guardian present.

Is there an age requirement to get a Concealed Carry permit?

Yes, the state of New Mexico requires that people are at least 21 years of age to get a concealed carry permit.

Do you do private small group classes?

Yes, our trainers will work with you to schedule private classes when it is convenient for you. Do we require a minimum of five people, however when you pay for four students, the fifth student is free.
